Kingstown. 29 January 2020. The Delegation for the Caribbean of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George, notes with great sadness the passing on 23 January 2020, aged 83, of Sir Frederick Ballantyne, GCMG,GCFO, Governor General of St Vincent and the Grenadines from 2002 until 2019. A State Funeral will take place on 29 January 2020 at the Kingstown Methodist Church.
Sir Frederick, was invested in November 2014 as a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Francis I by decree of the Prince and Grand Master, HRH The Duke of Castro. The investiture took place at the Prime Minister’s Residence on the occasion of the Official Visit to St Vincent and the Grenadines of the Grand Prior of the Constantinian Order, His Eminence Renato Raffaele, Cardinal Martino, and the Secretary General of the Royal Order of Francis I, Mr Anthony Bailey OBE GCSS.
