St John’s, 1 November 2016. The Delegate for the Caribbean of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George, Anthony Bailey congratulated on behalf of the Grand Master HRH The Duke of Castro, Grand Prior HE Renato Raffaele Cardinal Martino and our worldwide confraternity the national and religious leaders of Antigua and Barbuda on the occasion of the country’s 35th Anniversary of Independence Day.
In his congratulatory message Anthony said: “The Constantinian Order very much values its association with Antigua and Barbuda and I strongly believe that the good work and relations established over the past years will continue to deepen for the benefit of the country and its multi-faith communities.”
On 1 November 1981, the twin-island nation gained independence from Britain and became an independent Commonwealth Realm. This year the celebrations theme is “Building an economic powerhouse together”.
The Constantinian Order has been active in the Caribbean since 1981 with charitable projects in the fields of education, national patrimony and religious understanding in Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada and St Lucia.
